NorDigNet
NorDigNet, a Nordic network for digital health in primary care
Created/last edited on
Mission statement
NorDigNet brings together clinicians and researchers to critically evaluate, co‑develop, and implement digital‑health innovations that strengthen Nordic general practice and primary care.
What are we?
The network fosters cross-national collaboration and regular knowledge exchange of clinical experiences and research insights, as well as critical exploration of new digital health developments. As the field of digital health evolves rapidly, close collaboration between clinicians and researchers is vital to keeping up-to-date and to ensure evidence-informed practice.
We use the broad definition of digital health, as given by WHO: “the field of knowledge and practice associated with the development and use of digital technologies to improve health”.
The core of our network is Nordic. However, we actively include members from other Northern European countries to optimize cross-national learning.
Our focus is the use of digital technologies in general practice and within the wider primary-care system.
Who are we?
Currently, we are members from all Nordic countries as well as a few Northern European countries. We are open to members from other European countries. We also invite members from Northern-European countries.
The members of the executive board: Linda Huibers (associate professor, MD, Denmark), Tuomas Koskela (professor, GP, Finland), Veronica Milos Nymberg (associate professor, GP, Sweden), Lars Christian Naterstad Lervik (associate professor, MD, Norway), and Steindor Ellertsson (MD, Iceland).
What do we do?
We organize regular online webinars and yearly meetings on current digital health topics.
We share the most recent research evidence on digital health with the members of our mailing list.
We prepare scientific input for Nordic GP Congresses.
What do we want?
To support Nordic general practice values in the design and implementation of digital health.
To share knowledge and experiences across countries.
To strengthen cross-national collaboration in general, and Nordic collaboration in particular.
To collaborate on multi-site research and policy guidance.
To accelerate dissemination of research results.
To ease access to up-to-date, relevant, and evidence-based information on digital health, supporting GPs in their understanding and application of digital health in day-to-day practice workflows.
